My very first collection: It all started with finding the broken skeleton of a sand dollar I found during a stroll on Pismo Beach in California. A sand dollar is a very flat sea urchin with a fascinating pattern on its shell, resembling a cannabis leave. As a professional conservator, I tried to keep its natural beauty, using very old techniques of mending and gilding it, filling the missing gaps in each shell in a way that adds to its unique beauty. The sand dollar had now turned into the pendant of a necklace. The many remarks on its beauty inspired me to start crafting jewelry from the beauty that nature offered.
